My latest painting for another exhibition… AND it has SOLD! Mid Lachlan Landcare has curated an amazing exhibition called the FINE ARTS FUNGI EXHIBITION which is showing at the Rosnay Organic Winery in Canowindra throughout May 2023. It’s a collection of around 40 artworks by 70 local artists and is absolutely incredible! Thank you sooo much to Trudi Refshauge with her passion for fungi for putting this show together! So honoured to be a part of this amazing exhibition. An absolute must see for anyone interested in the peculiar... AND wine!

A Journey through the Carbon Cycle and Climate Change
by Christine Shearer
Just finished the design and illustrations for this humorous educational children’s book The Everywhere Atom written by the amazing scientist and author, Christine Shearer. It will be published later this year by Haymarket Press in the USA. It was so much fun creating all the funny little carbon characters... Can’t wait to see it printed!
This is my very first Phoebe book which holds a collection of whimsical Phoebe illustrations, stories, Phoebe Fixes and some very wise quotes. Written, illustrated, designed and self-published by myself, it’s now available to purchase at my online Etsy shop kazartgallery.etsy.com
If you would like it personally signed by the author (that’s me…) then please make sure to let me know :)
And don’t forget that one dollar from every book sold is being donated to the WASH House, a community-based, not for profit resource centre for women in the western suburbs of Sydney. Their mission is to resource and support women and girls to be empowered to live fulfilling, safe, joyous lives. They work to reduce the impact of poverty, social disadvantage and violence on their lives. You can check them out at washhouse.org.au or go to facebook.com/washwomen or search for @washwomen on Facebook

I recently completed some more black and white illustrations for an amazing author, Gabrielle Worrell, who has written a truthful and humorous book about an alternative high school for kids that don’t fit into normal schools. The collection of short stories are about her experiences as the Principle of such a school which was unfortunately shut down by higher powers :(

Recently I illustrated this children’s book for Larrikin House. The publisher wanted the illustrations to be done in the same style as my crazy cats. This meant hours (and days and weeks…) of drawing by hand with colour pencil. It was epic but exhilarating! I haven’t done anything on this scale by hand… ever (these days I prefer to work digitally). The book comes out mid 2020. Cant wait!

Just finished the final colour illustrations for this fantastic children’s story written by the amazing author Coral Vass. Each illustration was hand drawn and coloured using Derwent colour pencils which took an immense amount of time and patience (the patience was needed by my family with me!). Can’t wait to see it finally printed - the book will be published by Larrikin House early 2021.

I recently completed 100 illustrations for a very funny book called ‘100 Things That Piss Me Off’ written by Ross Burns. Seriously, it was a huge task and took many months to do but the humour kept me going… it is hilarious!

Just finished illustrating another children’s book called Scruffy & Silk written by Karen Kepert. All the illustrations were hand drawn using Derwent coloured pencils. Just in case I haven’t mentioned it before… I LOVE Derwent pencils! This book will be available as a ‘print on demand’ book in both hard and soft cover. Perfect reading for kids 3 to 8 year old.
I’ll post the link to order as soon as its available!
Recently I had the honour of creating a cheeky cat character for the cover of the book ‘The Dunce’ by Tracy-Lee Adams. This amazing woman’s story of survival is incredible - I could not stop reading it!
Available as an e-book on Amazon.
Black & white illustrations created for the book, ‘Black Thoughts High School’ written by Gabrielle Worrell.
